If you are just arrived to Italy and you are not used to italian drinks, no worries! This article is here to help you. Expecially in Veneto there are a lot of common drinks that everybody can have at everytime but expecially during the “Aperitivo” time, so between 5 and 8 pm. Here the most famous ones:

Spritz

Probably the national drink of Veneto, it comes in many shapes, most commonly the Aperol Spritz and the Campari Spritz. It is composed by Aperol (or Campari for a stroger taste), Prosecco and Soda, and we drink it literally anytime! They are usually presented in a wine glass with lemon slices or oranges and some little snaks, the quantity of which depends on the region and on the bar.

Americano

This is a medium alcoholic drink composed by a bitter  (usually Campari bitter), a red Vermut (usually Martini) and soda water, everything in the same quantitative. It is usually decorated with a lemon or orange slice, and presented in a small bold glass.

Negroni

A stronger version of the Americano created by Count Camillo Negroni in Florence in 1920. It mixes the Bitter and the Red vermut with Gin instead of soda water. Only for the strongers.

Bacaro Tour

Honorable mention to Bacaro: go to Venice in some little bar and ask for “bacaro” and “cicchetto”. You will thanks me later ;). Here we use to do a “Bacaro Tour” once in a while, which is basically a tour of bacaro and cicchetto in every bar in Venice (go to Bacaretto da Lele which is the most famous). They will give you a glass of wine (the “bacaro”) and a little snack (the “cicchetto”) for a very cheap price, usually less than five euros for both.

Here a map and a useful website 😉 It will be very cheap and funny!
